Listen and Do

Setup
None
Time required
Can last from a couple minutes to much longer depending on how many times you and your child want to play.
Materials
Books or stories that include action words (e.g. walk, hop).
How to Play
Choose a story to read to your child, and ask your child to act out a fun action (e.g., stand up, turn around, jump, hop, run) whenever they hear the word in the story. Encourage your child to listen closely for the word as the story progresses.
Some Tips
Model the action the first few times it is said.
Make it Easier
Read at a slow speed. Focus on only one word.
Make it Harder
Add more words to pay attention to and acting out.
